Traffic Accident kills First Foundation General Member

Hannah’s Foundation is in deep sorrow at the tragic death of our first General Member, Sherri Ann Buchanan yesterday on 30th June 2009, aged 25. Sherri was killed near Miles in QLD in a traffic accident; her two children were saved by their five point car harness seats. Sherri is survived by her two children aged six and four and Partner Allan Pierpoint. Sherri has been a friend and supporter of the Foundation since it started and a personal friend to Katherine for four years.

Whilst the Foundation supports those affected by drowning and the tragic losses that families have suffered, Sherri was our first member and an avid supporter of water safety, drowning prevention and awareness. The Foundation has offered its support services to the family for grief counsellors and peer support.

Sherri worked tirelessly for Hannah’s Foundation and donated every fortnight through her workplace giving program at Pohlmans Nursery where she worked. Her pizzazz for life, love for family and her children and the advocacy of safety for children will never be forgotten by those members and families. Sherri will be sadly missed.

Hannah’s Foundation now wishes to contribute to the lives of Sherri's two children. With permission of the Pierpoint Family donations in memoriam of Sherri Ann can be made at:
BSB: 704052 Acccount 1035885
Account Name: Hannahs Foundation
REFERENCE: Sherri Ann

Donations can also be forwarded to Everyday Hero. All donations via Everyday Hero for the next month will go to this appeal.

On behalf of the directors of Hannah’s Foundation, General Members and our families we offer our sincerest condolences to the Pierpoint and Buchanan families and friends
